Unfortunately Redream is not open-source and therefore can not be integrated into batocera.

if it can’t be integrated because it’s closed source why do we have the closed source Nvidia drivers?

I ONLY on PC with Portable Emulationstation. Yes, you can use redream on there. I'm still trying to find out how to use my Linux version on Redream and put it on Batocera myself too. Yes, It does work WAY Better

Hmm, But Batocera Plus have it. Hmm…. That’s weird. Probably Because it’s gotten Wine 5.0 installed, And Maybe, it’s running Windows Version of Redream (That’s works and Plays Flawlessy). But, Getting Linux Version to boot up on batocera is still in testing phase.

thisguy Batocera Plus is a ‘fork’. While it is cool to see projects like that Batocera Plus was based on Batocera not the other way around. Batocera follows the ‘free’ and ‘non-commercial’ way, Plus is not really. If you dig a little you will see that there are fair few articles / topics that will explain why Batocera does not want to integreate things like Redream(at least for now).

If you are looking for front ends that can do all you want try ‘Launchbox’. It is windows based but well made and you get everything and more.

Batocera developement team will sooner or later either find a way to integrate this in without having to deal with legalities of it or will move on to other options. Even if these are less ‘good’ they might fill in gaps ;-)

I would personally love to see XBox emulators integrated but we all know that they are far from perfect ;-)

BZZ For my Windows, I’m actually using Coinops as a Frontend with the lastest and greatest. Launchbox is like Meh…. The Reason Why I rooting so much for Batocera, is Because of the Portability of it being on a USB SSD or 3.1 USB. And Then, I love the Emulationstation Front End. The Themes, the Art Work, and Everything about it is so cool. I’m a keep this plus version for a while until The Original Batocera comes close to it and not so buggy after each update.

thisguy I dont know…. Coinops does not have as many options as Launchbox/Bigbox. They are similar but Launchbox takes the cake. I also believe that Launchbox can be USB set(never tried).

Batocera might be ‘buggy’ cause of how the relese circle works. Rather than ‘fix bugs, test for long, release’ they ‘implement, try, release’. This is why you get new versions more often but they are more user tested instead of developer tested. Not to say that developers don’t ;-).

BZZ I did, I got the 5.26 release of Batocera. I don’t believe LaunchBOX is An OS (like Batocera and Batocera Plus) It’s only base on Windows. Meaning that you’ll have to boot to windows everytime you want to play the frontend.

Or, Unless you make a FAST like a 5.0 USB(i know 5.0 is not out yet, nut one day it will and it will be FAST) WINDOWS to go (getintopc). Install Launchbox, Coinops, ANY windows GAMES you want and IT’S portable. That’ll be nice…

I got windows to go on a 512 3.1 USB, it’s meh, not the fastest, but it’s got windows 10 pro installed.

thisguy Indeed it is not OS. But its an option. I use Launchbox on my main PC and Batocera on another pluged to TV. Its mainly for my kids so I dont really mind wheter its Linux or Windows based. Both have advantages and disadvantages.
