On Rpi 3b plus: FAT32, NTFS , EXT2, EXT4 or exFAT using external?

Hi guys, I need help with something.

I can't find information on this topic in detail in the forum, but my problem is with my external hard drive in Batocera.

Actually, I am using the FAT32 partition and I always have a problem with data loss because sometimes it seems that the system does not close properly, even if I try to fix it with Windows, it crashes all the time, no matter what version of Batocera have used or even if My external drive is in NTFS.

So, my question is: which partition system is better to use in RPI 3B Plus to stop having these problems? (I don't care if I have to use tools like Paragon to copy the data from Windows).

Is there also some configuration that I must do in my system to avoid this?

Is there a detailed tutorial for noobs with the correct information on how to do it?

ext4 is the best choice for robustest.
fat32/ntfs for compatibility with windows, but robustiness is bad.
ext4 is the default on internal.
i guess that you've just to format your key in ext4 for example.

I wanted to ask you, did you have the opportunity to try it on your own? . Since I formatted using ext4 and it didn't work.

I used the AOMEI partition mananger pro program, first I tried using the MBR disk type and it left me a folder with the name lost + found and from the Rpi I got an error.

Now I am trying to use the same ext4 format but based on a GPT system with the AOMEI program.

I don't know if formatting it from Windows can bring you some error or problem, but the partition at least using paragon is well formatted in ext4.

Mmonserrat84 If you want to manage your ROMs using Windows, exFAT would be a better option since it removes some of the old FAT32 filesystem limitations.

Also, after formating the pendrive you want to use, you will have to set the disk through emulationstation:
