Hi all,
I am close to having Batocera 5.22 set up the way I want it, but after a few too many late nights, I've decided to turn to this forum for help with a couple of outstanding points.
I'm having trouble with both SCUMMVM and SNES MSU1 games, as follows:
SCUMMVM: I would like all games to be directly launchable from the initial SCUMMVM screen, without having to go into subfolders. I would also like the correct metadata to be displayed. Can anyone advise the optimal way of doing this? I tried using Skraper, but this apparently requires each folder to end in .scummvm, which I understand is at odds with what Batocera expects. So if I rename the folders accordingly, I can get the metadata appearing correctly, but when I attempt to launch it produces the familiar "game data not found" error.
I know the advice is not to rename the folder, but instead have a blank [short name].scummvm file in the folder itself. Unfortunately, when I do this, Skraper will not detect it. Incidentally, prior to scraping, I was able to launch the games successfully, so I know that SCUMMVM itself is working fine. Even more frustratingly, I'm sure I had everything working correctly yesterday, but somehow I've managed to break it since then!
SNES MSU1: As with SCUMMVM, I would like the correct metadata to be displayed. However, in this case I don't mind whether they are among the normal SNES roms, or all in their own subfolder (provided all can be launched directly from this subfolder). Using Skraper again, I was able to obtain metadata for most of my MSU1 roms. However, I wasn't able to make the metadata appear in Batocera.
I'm assuming that Batocera does not yet recognise MSU1 as a system, but I was hoping that it would be able to treat MSU1 roms as normal SNES roms. Incidentally, I am still able to launch these ROMs, and the MSU1 music is playing correctly. However, I couldn't find a way of having them all directly launchable from the same screen - instead, I first have to open the rom's subfolder.
Sorry this is a bit wordy, but I've been plugging away at this for a while so have quite a lot to report! Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Please let me know if you need further info, or need to inform me that I'm going about this completely the wrong way!
