Storage Device defaults to internal

yesterday I installed Batocera on a USB drive, and used an internal HDD for my rooms. When selecting the HDD as my storage device Batocera created the folder director where I could place my bios and roms. This was working great last night, but when I loaded up Batocera this morning it seemed that it no longer recognized the folder on the HDD and wouldn't load any of the roms.
I know the it's defaulting to internal because the only rom I have on internal is loading up.

fter some research I'm guessing it might be a sharewait timeout issue, but I'm a noob to linux and don't know how I would go about increasing that value. I've read I can add in the value in recalbox-boot.conf, but where do I access that conf file?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Shared/system/batocera.conf. the name was changed from recalbox to batocera. You can use a Windows PC to map the shared file via the network connection as a network driveor use ssh.

Thank you for replying.

So I think I figured out what the problem was, which was I had edited the batocera-boot.config with notepad and that messed things up.

The problem I'm having now is that after deleting the batocera file on my "no_name" hard drive and reinstalling the Batocera OS on the usb drive. When I boot up a freshly installed Batocera and point it to use to "no_name" hard drive it isn't creating the batocera folder anymore and so still isn't using my hard drive. I'll try adding the sharewait to the batocera.config or batocera-boot.config and see what happens.

What if you reformat the hard-drive and then tried to load batocera it should make a link on the hard drive for it. Have you tried to use the thumb drive to install it on the hard drive
