I have tried to replace Microsoft Yahoo, and the three fonts have been replaced. Since Microsoft Yahoo is involved in copyright issues, it can be replaced with the free font squared blackbody.
Just replace the fonts under these three paths to solve
/usr/share/fonts/dejavu
DejaVuSansMono.ttf
/usr/share/retroarch/assets/ozone
regular.ttf
/usr/share/retroarch/assets/xmb/monochrome
font.ttf

After you switch to Chinese, you can see garbled characters when you enter retroarch.

what kind of 8bitdo controller do you have exactly?
and which paring mode did you use?
8bitdo controllers have several pairing modes (switch mode, android mode, pc mode etc.) and best is, to use the switch-mode (the controller will then be recognized as switch pro controller)

This issue (no control for lower screen possible) persists already since Version 5.22, see my post here:

It is because since 5.22 only the standalone core of citra is available.
Before in older versions (5.21 and older) it was possible to select to the Libretro Citra Emulator (in Game Settings, Advanced, 3DS) and there you could configure the controls and other settings within RetroArch Quick Menu (Hotkey + B while in game).

nadenislamarre will there be the possibility to configure the citra emulator in the future? because in Applications (F1 on Keyboard) there is no citra-emu-config yet.
Or maybe the Libretro Citra Emulator could be implemented again? Because 3DS looks better with bezels (only available with libretro emulators) and you can easily edit configuration via RetroArch Quick Menu (activate control for lower screen, enhance resolution etc.)

joinski thanks for your reply. I have the sn30 and sn30pro, I used the switch mode and tried the others. Pairing thought ES UI never works. I only managed to pair manually through SSH using the python scripts in Batocera, but it doesn't stick after a reboot.

Hi, I found a problem with the 3ds games in this version, the cursor does not appear, therefore, you cannot use the lower screen.

I have the SFC 30 (which should be the same like sn30 but with european snes /japanese famicom design) and the SFC 30 Pro (which should be the same like sn30pro, but also european snes/japanese famicom design) and for me the SFC 30 Pro works without issues in switch mode while the SFC 30 i can only get to work wired (USB-cable connected).

tenyo i would try a fresh new batocera installation and then connect the sn30 pro via switch mode and configure the buttons. For me this worked and i could reproduce it several times.
or you could also try another bluetooth-dongle (maybe yours is not compatible).

joinski Thanks, I'm using the pi3B+ internal bluetooth, but I also tried a TP-Link dongle that is recognized but doesn't change anything... So reinstalling is the only way?

Hi, forgive me as I'm new here. I run 2 different potatoes, an older Dell and an HP laptop. Both are 64 bit. 5.23 RCO is not working x86-64 for me. Running off USB stick, when I choose a game, it pops back out to the menu, similar as to if there were no bios files. But it is doing this with the default, built in games. Also, looks like the configure is a bit too sensitive for my f310, whith the L2 and R2 buttons. It could be me but older versions running perfectly fine.

Ws there a reason you removed the Scripts folder from the recalbox directory, it made it easier to download and install a Beta version, I now have to put the Harddrive into a caddy and update that way.

Can you make it so the Amiga emulators work in 4:3 mode, they don't look right in widescreen, also have you considered adding P-UAE as an extra Amiga emulator as it runs in Retroarch.
