Pro controller issues

Okay so. Brand new to batocera. Used retropie before. Cant get my switch pro controller to pair, and when I do it forgets it upon startup/shutdown. Takes 20-30 tries to get to re-pair. Using switch pro controller revision D, insignia pcy5bma2, on core i3 machine. All this is supported by recallbox. What am I doing wrong??

switch pads works on batocera. i've not the pro one to test.
there can be several reasons however, generally, it is related to the bt dongle more than on the pad.
batocera driver versions is recent, but it happend that with the new driver versions a bug is introduced. i've a bt dongle which worked in old lnux versions and which doense't work anymore.
can you try an other dongle ?

nadenislamarre all i have is this one, and I paid $20 for it. Its supported by both retropie and recallbox. It HAS to work. It also connects to my sphero star wars droids without issue, in the current 5.22 build. Doesnt do me much good but shows the BT protocol is working properly. Is there some way I can configure it to trust the mac address of my pro controller manually?
