Cant get n64 or neogeo games to work

forgive my english but it is not my first language. I am not sure how to troubleshoot this os but loaded it on SSD and put on genesis, snes, N64 and neo geo games.

i put them in each folder and i see the games in their respective emulator. but when l click on neogeo or n64 it doesnt load it goes to black screen then back to home screen.

what are some troubleshooting steps?

and before you think i am noobie i figured out wifi card, and hdmi audio problem on my own. So i am pretty smart just dont know how to fix neo geo/n64 problem

What does "OPENGL" say (ES Menu, "System", "Information")
And what file extension do your n64 roms have?
Do you have the correct bios files for neo geo? (are the Neo Geo Bios files listed under "Game Settings", "Missing BIOS"?)

1) OPENL 4.2 (CORE Profile) MESA 19.0.8
2) they are all .zip
3) it shows the bios is missing. (i am guessing there are steps to load this)

2) try to unzip/extract the files.
but for n64 there could be another cause: did you select the correct Audio Output Device (under Sound Settings)? because if not, N64 won't start (black screen and then back to home screen).
3) for neogeo you need the bios files (in /share/bios folder and the neogeo.zip needs also to be in the folder share/roms/neogeo). don't ask for bios files here (it is not legal to offer them in public), just google batocera bios pack and you will find several youtube videos and a link to the mini cake tv

joinski got n64 working. it was because the files were zipped. I also used the knowledge you gave me to fix my psx and dreamcast. (my pc is to slow to play those games)

Neogeo still no workie. but I am sure it is bad emu. THANKS AGAIN FOR HELP

digitalbots I had a lot of problems until I got my Neogeo games working properly. here is what I did:
- Download the Mame2003 romset (AKA Mame 0.78)
- Fish out the Neogeo games you like and put them under /share/roms/neogeo
- Copy the Neogeo.zip file (it's found in the rom folder of the mame2003 romset...) into /share/roms/neogeo and /share/bios.
- Update the game list

I couldn't make the Mame2010 or FBA x.43 NeoGeo roms work for some reason - although they work flawlessly on other RetroArch distros with the same cores.
