Help me choose the best linux for gaming.

I am planning to get a custom PC made purely for gaming. Heres the games i will be playing. CSGO, League of Legends, Rocket League, Fortnite and Minecraft. A friend suggested using a linux OS, however i want to know other hardware that would be compatible with it.

liamnilsson i have a i3-3220, ATI HD 7750, 8gb of DDR3 ram. Bought it for 40€ in totaal. I think you Will be able to play all games. Maybe Ubuntu is a good os?

Most gaming software as Batocera, Recalbox, Retropie are not running under a certain Linux version.
They are Linux systems by semselves, based on buildroot.

Dragu Retropie is not a distro, but a system installed on top. You can install retropie on top of Debian/Ubuntu for example.

Your right, I was thinking Lakka and wrote Retropie. But it seems that some buildroot versions of Retropie exists.

SteamOS has high-end hardware requirements though. Also I am not sure if it works well or works at all with games other than what the client provides.
