new to Batocera

is there a FAQ section? I am not seeing one.
I would hate to ask a bunch of questions that have been asked many times.
new to Batocera. not new to ES on retropie 3b+
I have no sound... I lucked out and saw a post to try KODI and get sound and back out and retry that port. (not able to try this yet.)
PC IS HP ProDesk 600 G1 Intel i5 3.3GHz with 10 gig ram.
video card is pny technologies geforce gt 710 2GB DDR3 PCIE.
with windows 7. I could play PS2 , Wii, GameCube, Dreamcast, N64
Having problems with Batocera. It shows roms but if I pick one it is black screen then rom list again.
Genesis, Nes, Snes work fine but I have raspberry Pi's for those.
Final burn alfa. My rom set I have handy is FBA0.2.97.43 and 2.97.38
If I can not use these I might be able to pull a set off a pi image.
Mame I have .132 and .138 and .137 , and 37b , and mame 2003 roms .78
I do not know how to load cores
I am using batocera 5-23x86-64

I have sound. kodi trick worked. Thanks for that tip.
I do notice sound menu the volume slide resets to 0 every time. I put it at 99 and go back and it is back to 0
