Install it on my harddisk, not running from USB

Hello, It runs great via my USB port, but how can install it on my harddrive. It is an old laptop and I do not use it anymore so I want to wipe my HD and install this great product to run games and play kodi.
In some linux distr, there is an install option, cannot find it here...pls assist,,or was it only ment to be running from USB??

2 possibilities :
- the installation process is the same for the usb as for the hard drive
- if you don't manage to do the same, wait, in next versions i'll add a menu entry to create rpi/x86/odroid keys/sd card from any running batocera. (but it's not yet ready).

jthemad I was thinking the same but I do not have the hardware to do this.
caxs at this moment there is windows 7 on it, I can imagine you have to remove the boot also.
nadenislamarre then you for replying. I',m an enduser, I know it was very easy on Linux Mint distribution. But remember there can be an old OS 1st that needs to be wiped. I think you need a simplified proces for it with some warnings and windows or other OS needs to be wiped in this proces, just simply copy files will not work I asume. but I'm happy with your reply and I can test a later version and give you feedback. At this moment I run from USBstick till you deliver an install option. I'm very happy with the userfriendly of this. It is really nice that those older mahines still can be used.

Hi, I installed on my old laptop on my hard disk, using an sata to USB converter.. connect your laptop harddisk to another windows pc by the sata usb converter and install Batocera on it following te same procedure of the usb devices.. it works. However I prefer install it on an USB stick cause it's portable and it works on more pcs.. hi!

An easy way is to use image software
If you make an image of the pendrive with the acronis and then install on the hd it works

Actually, I found a way to do this and it WORKS beautifully. I'm loading ROMs and ISOs to my SSD right now and the performance is OFF THE CHARTS.

Here's what you need:
A SATA-to-USB converter (I use USB 3.0)
A software program to burn the image onto the USB drive (however, only certain ones will burn to HDDs, I used Etcher).
A HDD or SSD (obviously)
x86/x64 image of Batocera.

Personally, once I get this loaded, I'm sure it's probably going to become one of my favorite machines, if not, my absolutely favorite gaming machine I've got in the place.

yes. and you can launch on rpi, plug a usb key and install the x86 version
of boot the x86_64 version and install the odroid version on a usb card.
