Getting started - storage device

Hi, I've flashed a USB stick with Batocera, and it's working great so far. I want to add roms, so I've done the step where I select the Storage Device and restart the system. On restart though, nothing comes up.
I see the Batocera splash page, but instead of going through to the front end, it just shows a black screen. So something's gone wrong - any ideas?
If it helps, I'm using x86_64 version. My PC is HP 800 G3. My external drive that I want to add games on is 2TB, and I've formatted to FAT32. (On the Change Log for this latest version of Batocera, I can see there's been a fix done for 2TB + drives, so not sure if this is an existing issue.)
Any help would be much appreciated, as I'm really impressed so far and would love to add my roms to this. Thanks a lot.

If you are OK with terminal commands, I'd suggest you to take a look at https://batocera.org/wiki/doku.php?id=en:store_games_on_a_second_usb_sata_drive and make sure you can see your 2TB external drive through the blkid command.

Just wanted to let you know this worked. Thanks a lot for your help. HDMI0 worked in Kodi, and I used that setting in the main UI and it worked. It's funny that the audio setting didn't work in UI before I changed in Kodi. At least you helped me find the workaround. Thank you!
