Weird networking issue preventing me from installing to new disk

I am currently running 5.23 and encountered a weird networking issue

I connected up the ethernet port on my PC to my switch and upon booting up Batocera.Linux, i can see the IP address of 192.168.1.196 and Status is showing as Not Connected in Network Settings and from my laptop on the same network i can ping to 192.168.1.196 and when i ssh into the PC running Batocera.Linux, i can ping 8.8.8.8 and google.com with no issues at all from inside Batocera.Linux

without the network showing as Connected, i can't install Batocera.Linux to my onboard ssd at all, please do tell me how can i fix this annoying issue with the network ??

you have to manually upgrade to Batocera 5.24

because older versions than 5.24 point to the old web-address of batocera that does not exist anymore and that's why it shows "not connected".
