Installer un script

Hello, I would like to install the script of a Led module from a Nuxii box on Batocera 5.24. The script works well in recalbox, but I don't know how to modify it to make it executable in Batocera. The goal of the script is that when a game is running, a green led lights up, and when we quit the game or navigate in the menu it is a red led which is on. Under recalbox I had a hard time and there under Batocera 5.24 I realize that the architecture of the files is not the same. Thank you for all the help you can give me. (And yes I am a novice, I discovered Batocera and the Linux universe is Chinese for me !!!)

On recalbox I had to make a second one which I put below. Should I put it too or can I do without it on Batocera?

The second script had to be placed in etc / init.d / S02 .... under recalbox

I would advice you to setup the second script to custom.sh

Therefore edit /userdata/system/custom.sh
and add this code to custom.sh

To toggle between the LED colour just write annother script according docs here ....

$1 gives condition for gameStart or gameStop
I think you can setup this on your own.
Don't forget the shebang and make the script executable

However, if I use the retroflag script for the on / off button integrated into Batocera, I don't need to copy the whole script and devote myself only to LEDs?

senpai92 Yes you can use the original script, too. But afaik the directory retroflag and it's symlinks were removed. So I included this into one script.

You need a script that inits the LED and that starts the push button to work. This is all done in the script posted above.

The original script for LED was a bit ..... "weird" as it searched for processes that used cores like retroarch and then switched the LED. Batocera offers a "event" based coding so BATOCERA says "gameStart" and then you tell your script what to do. This is better for coding ;)

I'm starting to understand how it works and actually it looks easier. the script was provided to me by the seller qynd I bought the box and worked very well under recalbox but I was far from thinking that one could make simpler

senpai92 I modified the script. The endless loop with if condition is sensless
So you may ask why I removed the while true loop? Because with this condition the script (custom.sh) will never end. So it's better to let the script finish and then reset the exported GPIOs. If you want you can write in the stop function a small blink code or let both LED glow. Everything you want to do.

Thank you the script which initializes the leds and the button works very well. Now, if I understood correctly, you have to create a second script that turns on the led1 when I'm in the menu and then turns on the led2 when I start a game. I have a lot of trouble with the syntax of the script, I do not know which command or loop to use. Should I use gameStart and the condition that goes with it or gameStop or both?

I was going to tell you that I may have succeeded but you got ahead of me !!
I created the script below and it looks like it works. Good after if there are errors I will use yours safer.

@senpai92 Your script does uses exactly the same code logic. There should be no errors.
If you update BATOCERA no setup for users scripts and user configs will be changed.
BATOCERA is made for power users and therefore can use extended scripts like these without interfering with future updates.

Hello, I come back to you for news. Everything works well the transition to version 5.25 posed no problems.
On the other hand I have just noticed that when I use the command restart vi the menu, it turns off the rpi. I tested on another rpi without script or anything and the restart command works without problems.
I think that we must add or modify the script can you help me for that? Thank you in advance.

@senpai92 Yes this is possible, remove the export of the BUTTON in the gameStop section of the custom.sh

I means this line

[deleted] hello !!!! I am French, brand new in batocera (ex recalbox ). Batocera is AMAZING !!! I even made some recomendation via your website to perfect the ride. I have a question: just like senpai92, I have a nuxii case with ir/led module. I just care about the leds (not the ir module). Of course the automatic script for recalbox doesn't work for batocera (i tested anyway :)). Is there any EASY way to make it works? I read everything above but sorry I don't know anything in linux or programming. I have installed putty, i am connected and i have that window with batocera written. what should I do step by step please? thank you for your time
