anyone know how to go pass the 2 tb limit i want to add more roms but hit my limit . or can i raid 2 drives or use my 4 tb drive. thanks

erikb9963 Is the limit 2TB? I am using 3TB for rom storage, but batocera is on another hdd(500Gb).

erikb9963. You can do 2 partitions make it 2 hard drives.

i'm run batocera 5.24 off usb stick with 2 tb hard drive and tried to use a 4 tb .how do i get batocera to use 2 partitioned 1 drive with one rom large folder "2.5 tb "psx folder""

erikb9963 there was a discussion about that awhile ago. I believe the system will only read off 1 rom drive at a time. @nadenislamarre said at some point he might look at 2 rom drives but no update since. I guess for now the important are major updates to 5.25 and even more in 5.26. You can still have 2 rom drives but you'll have to swap the settings when you want to use the other one. In menu you can select the drive to read.

BZZ Sorry.your right he would have switch between the 2 and reboot. I forgot about the file format of the harddrive.

So what's the maximum drive you can use then?

From what I got from older topics most people say the limit is 2TB. However seeing how I am using 3TB for rom storage that would not be precise. I am assuming that the limit is to actual install drive and not to secondary. So following that I guess you could try to use a simple USB with small size factor and then large HDD to run games from. But as I cannot find anything in wiki only people like @nadenislamarre could give you a clear answer. Dont go by my word though and check wiki yourself, I am up for over 28h now so a little slow on brain side. ;-)

before 5.24 or 5.25, the BATOCERA disk was limited to 2TB.
the shared partition was unlimited if used with an external device.
now, in case you reinstall, (so, if you installed batocera 5.23 and just update you have still the limitation) you have no more limitation.

@nadenislamarre I'm not able to replicate that. Pleae see https://forum.batocera.org/public/d/3382-feature-request-large-disk-support-for-526. I'm glad to provide logs/command output, but I see (on a UEFI capable x86-64 system) with a 6TB disk that the /userdata/ partition only has 256MB free and the vast majority of the disk is unavailable.

Today i've installed OS on 2Tb HDD, so after first boot OS made resizing, but smth was wrong with SHARE partition. It was created but not usable. I tried to delete and recreate the new one in Paragon in Win10PE. Linux ext4 was chosen, After another boot USERDATA was available on 2ndary partiton.
