I have the same issue.
running the latest and using Intel HD Graphics.

Is there a way to roll back to the previous version of Reicast?

Reicast doesn't even load the games for me. I switched it to flycast and Dreamcast runs, but at super speed. I have yet to find a solution short of wiping out this machine and switching to CoinOPS or BigBox

The solution for me was to go to Sound Output and use the integrated audio chip instead of HDMI. Dreamcast has now sound and the game moves at normal speed.

I was able to reproduce the issue with some of my PC hardware. The Reicast issue (no sound and games running way too fast) does not occure on every Hardware combination. Here my findings:

Intel Core i3-4360 + Nvidia GTX 750 - ok
Intel Pentium G3220 + AMD Radeon RX 550 - ok
Intel Core i5-4250U (Intel Haswell HD Graphics 5000) - ok
Intel Core i3-4130T (Intel Haswell HD Graphics 4400) - ok
AMD Athlon 3000G (AMD Radeon Vega 3 Graphics) - ok
Intel Celeron 1037U (Intel Ivy Bridge Mobile HD Graphics 2500) - nok (no sound, runs too fast)
Intel Celeron J1900 (Intel Bay Trail HD Graphics Family) - nok (no sound, runs too fast)
Intel Pentium G4500 (Intel Skylake HD Graphics 530) - nok (no sound, runs too fast)
Intel Core i3-8109U (Intel Iris Plus Graphics 655) - nok (no sound, runs too fast)
Intel Core m7-6Y75 (Intel Skylake HD Graphics 515) - nok (no sound, runs too fast)

I already posted this in the Discord to the developers. Hope that they can have a look at this and they can fix it soon.

According to joinski’s tests it appears to be a problem with Intel integrated graphics
I am having the exact same issue on Dell 790 i3-2100 with Intel HD 2000 graphics
I tried changing my audio output like @pitaru said but still get problem
Is there any work-around at the moment, by editing config files maybe?

Hello, with my INTEL NUC NUC7I5BNK - Core I5-7260U and intel IrisPlus 640 => nok (no sound, runs too fast). I hope a solution will be found.

Unfortunately this has not worked. The Reicast folder recreated when I restarted but the problem is still the same

No I get exactly same problem with 5.26 rc2, plus the dpad does not map through for Reicast now (Rock Candy Xbox 360 controller)

did you also delete the reicast folder under /share/system/configs first? and did you try all different audio output devices again after deleting the reicast folder?
and how is your system connected? via hdmi to a tv? could you try to connect audio via audio jack 3.5mm?
do you have working audio in other systems?

joinski On first install, there is no Reicast folder. I set my audio to analogue (3.5mm jack on back of PC) which is working in menu and other emulators. I get the problem with Reicast, no sound, too fast. Reicast folder now exists so I delete it and try again. Same problem again. I then delete Reicast folder and set audio to HDMI. I get the problem again. I tried them all again always deleting the Reicast folder and I get the problem in every situation. I am using Dell 790 USFF i3-2100 with integrated Intel HD 2000 graphics. All other emulators tested are OK. Thanks

*I am also getting a problem in this build with the d-pad of my controller (Rock Candy Xbox 360) not working in Reicast. Also the d-pad mappings are wrong for c64. These are a different issue of course.

regarding the reicast issue (runs too fast without audio):

if anything goes wrong with the audio drivers, reicast go wrong while it is sync with audio

you could alternatively use libretro/flycast instead of reicast for dreamcast emulation (flycast runs better than reicast in general)

So it appears this controller issue is new in 5.26 rc2
I will use 5.25 until official launch of 5.26
