Hello everyone, I am a newbie to Batocera, but I do have other systems with different software.
For this project I wanted to take my ultra small form factor PC and use it solely for retro gaming, in particular, I wanted it to boot straight into the software - which is I why I chose Batocera. I wanted to make it portable (like bringing it to a friend's house without bringing a keyboard and mouse) (Like a raspberry Pi only with better hardware)
So I waited for Batocera 5.25 to come out and I tried installing it yesterday. I'm having issues. When I make basic changes within the frontend like - don't show song title, disable Kodi, hide the joystick icon, etc. they aren't saving. When I restart they all revert back to the original settings.
I am using a 2tb seagate sshd laptop drive. I tried using ETA Prime's suggestion of running Batocera from USB stick and then choosing to install to a new drive and I got an error message. The log read something like... no space on /userdata.
So, I took the 2tb drive out and connected it to a SATA to USB adapter. Connected it to my PC, used Etcher to burn the image, put the drive back in, started the machine, and was very happy to see it up and running... until I tried changing settings.
1) Does it matter how the drive is formatted or will the image flash take care of that?
I tried both ext4 and then fat32 before flashing the image and still neither way would save the settings.
Also, I noticed for the first run there is that screen where reads making changes to the file system do not turn off machine. I did not... I allowed it to complete.
I hope it's something simple. If anyone has any advice please let me know. Perhaps it is a bug?
Thank you!
