Hi same Problem on my side...
I have a Monitor with 2560x1440px and inside my boot.ini it's configured to:
setenv hdmimode "1080p60hz"
Also inside the batocera.conf i configured:
global.videomode=CEA 16 HDMI
When i start a game it drops me alltime to 1920x1200:

2020-04-22 15:49:19 INFO (emulatorlauncher.py:91):main(): resolution: 1920x1200
I can set inside the files what ever i want...i got always 1920x1200...on the Raspberry Version everything works fine!
The problem also is that it seems that this problem also often freezes my system on Batocerascreen while booting!
Any idea or fix which i can modifiy on the fly?
