Dual Boot

Hello there,
I have been looking around and attempting to configure a way to dual boot Linux (Manjaro, Mint, or Ubuntu) and Batocera. I have partitioned my drive and attempted with Windows 10 pro and Manjaro but I have been unable to find a way to install Batocera to the partition I created. When I load it from my USB stick it only selects my entire drive as an option to install to. Do I need to install Batocera before another os then partition with Linux? Thanks for any help or suggestions.

You have to install Batocera first. Then resize the Share partition ( 32GB for retro gaming is plenty) then install Linux. Once Linux is installed you have to create a grub entry pointing to the EFI in the BOOT directory. if your bios is MBR only then you have to point grub to the initrd.gz and linux image. If that doesnt work you'll have to add the UUID and Label in the grub script. Its a bit of a process but well worth it. Note that the grub Customizer will not automatically find Batocera it has to be added manually. Hope this helps.
