It’s my last tests
1) On the batocera 5.25 : Optiplex 7010 (I5-3550 @3.30GHz 4 cores, 8Go) + ATI 7470 card
When I said that with an ATI card style : 7470 or 2400 or even a 6450 the 8/16/32 emulators were rowing (but not with the x600 ) it’s because in fact in the Retroarch parameters, there was a problem with the Vertical Refresh Rate stayed in 60Hz while the modeline was 50Hz.
So first I put the option like you said :
“Save Configuration on Exit: ON”
Setting / Video / CRT SwitchRes: ON
Setting / Video / Synchronization: Vertical Sync (Vsync): ON
On EmulationStation I put “Aspect Ratio: Core Provided” and “Integer Scale: ON” because it is taken into account under retroarch. and overwrites the front parameters (like you said).
While the problem was in the Setting / Video / Output :
Estimated Screen refresh for the modeline 648×480@50Hz (15KHz): 25.xxx Hz (normal since we are in Interlace the 50Hz is divided by two)
but the Vertical Refresh Rate was still at 60Hz.
The 8/16/32 emulators used are slow
When you click on Estimated Screen Rate the Vertical Refresh Rate changes to 25.xxx Hz for the Vertical Refresh Rate the emulators are working normally :-)
In short, time lost. For my part most of the emulators work well with this even with Gamecube (Starfox Adventure is fluid) or the games seem much less jerky than before.
Well, the 50Hz image doesn’t cover the whole screen with a black band at the bottom and top.
By switching to a 60Hz modeline we have more of that :-)
Estimated Screen refresh for modeline 648×480@50Hz (15KHz) : 30.069Hz
and I set the vertical Refresh equal to the estimated screen refresh 30.069Hz.
Only on the Amiga (Libretro PUAE) I didn’t put “Core Provided” but “config”. FS-UAE doesn’t work at all whatever the parameters and modelines.
Daphne doesn’t work either (but works on RPI4). PS2 I have inversions in the control buttons but it seems to work well (Gradius V … I find it bad but good) … GameCube may be a bit jerky, but it’s better than what I had before. Atomiswave and Naomi work well too for DreamCast and N64.
Are my Retroarch settings good I don’t know because with a graphics card (GPU), I don’t know which Ouput/ Video it really needs (gl by default) but : glcore/gl1/xvideo/null ? same for the hard GPU Sync OFF or ON ? (OFF by default).
I had done a lot of tests under 5.26 but there are weird values for the Estimated Screen refresh.
Thx to you to your help
Stéphane.
