Actually I figured it out. After digging around the recall box documentation, you have to copy the zip file for each individual game into the roms directory. The rest of the files live in the <game>.daphne file under the roms dir.

Hi sfrancis353. I'm totally new to Batocera. Just installed it on my netbook and added bios etc. I have transferred a good few of my own roms but like you, cannot figure out how to get the Daphne roms showing.

What do you mean about the rest of the files living in the game.daphne file under the roms directory?

Is that a file or folder you need to create? As I'm not seeing it in the share directory.

No problem. Hope this explanation helps.
You have copied all of your daphne title dirs/files into the /roms/daphne directory. So for example for Dragon's Lair it will be in:
/roms/daphne/lair.daphne
Now go into that directory and you'll see a zip file. I believe it's call lair.zip. Copy that file to /roms/daphne
Do this for each and every daphne game.
Now in the /roms/daphne dir you'll see a bunch of zip files and all the directories for your games that have .daphe in their title
Now try to run them, should work

Anyone know how to get past the sound test page on space ace?

By sound test page you mean the grid pattern at start? It hangs there and you aren't shown the game preview after? The most common problem I've experienced is where I have migrated my ROMS from another system like retropie to my new Batocera install. If you have set up your games in another instance of Daphne before it may have created DAT files. Once they are there the emulator won't create them again and they could be corrupt or not set specifically to your machine. If you delete them they will be rebuilt next time you run it and they will be specific to your new installation. Relocate the DAT file so that it is out of the folder and restart. See what that does.

I have a different problem (batocera on raspberry 4) the path is correct .daphne folder and zip file in roms folder. The game (dragon’s lair) works but there is no music. Only the sound effect when I press the button. I only ear the announcer speaking in the initial video.

I realize this is an old thread but I found the information to be very useful. I successfully set up Space Ace and Dragon’s Lair on my Batocera machine. Unforunately, Dragon’s Lair 2 has a very different file configuration (there are many, many more audio files than the typical organization and the naming convention mentioned by sfrancis353 doesn’t work).

Question, so how do I set up Dragon’s Layer 2 in Batocera?

BTW, I’ve found this question asked in a few other forums across the internet but no answer.

mcrockett Dragons Lair 2 -

In the Roms sub-folder, I have the lair2.zip file

In the Daphne folder, I have my lair2.daphne folder.

Inside lair2.daphne I have loads and loads of movie and sound files (mine all start with dl2 rather than lair2 but that’s fine). I also have in the folder the text file lair2.txt

The text file starts with:

00001 dl2-00001.m2v

00002 dl2-00002.m2v

Etc etc. Hope that helps
