you can attach a photo here.
but in general, external output like hdmi is not yet offically supported.

@nadenislamarre the problem occurs in Batocera Interface only. All the games and kody run perfectly.

It's funny because if I wait to attach HDMI cable when blue batocera's logo appears, the problem doesn't occurr.

do you mean that

if you plug it before booting : it doesn't work (resized to half)
if you plug during the logo : it works
if you plug once booted, : it doesn't work (resized to half)

If I plug during the blue logo, not the white one, it works.

All the other options resized to half.

I've changed the boot options to start with Usb port.

If I turn on the laptop with the cable plugged, it doesn't work.

The only way I've got was plugging the cable during the blue logo.

Would you like I tried another way?

when it's broken,
can you connect via ssh and run :
/etc/init.d/S31emulationstation restart
and tell me if that's better ?
i think that the problem occurs only with es and not kodi/games because it depends on the known resolution when a window is created. when it is es, the output is not the one of the external output, when it's kodi or a game, it is known. restarting es may help.

i don't think so.
just download putty.exe
start it.
host, choose recalbox.local
login: root
password : recalboxroot
then, on the prompt, type : /etc/init.d/S31emulationstation restart
and press enter.

or from your pc :
- press f4 to quit es
- press ctrl+alt+f1 (or f2 or f3, i never remember) to swith to the console
login: root
password : recalboxroot
then, on the prompt, type : /etc/init.d/S31emulationstation restart

I tested your suggestion, but it didn't work. Then I decided to play with boot options and voilà! I got it.

At first I was using a legacy boot and then I changed to UEFI Boot.
Now I can start my note with the HDMI cable plugged and the screen will not be cropped.

The only inconvenience in this way is I must to press the boot botom, which is too small, everytime I want to play. But no worries...
By the way, I managed to fix that Mame Issue about not saving the settings. It seems this version 5.6 is missing some files comparing to the previous one. I had in my PC the 5.5 version and then I replaced and add the files related to Mame Emulator. I don't know where was thw problem, but it worked. Maybe you should use the files from 5.5 version in the next update.

It took me some time, but I finally figured out. In the current version the file gamelist.xml in the folder /recalbox/share/roms/mame is empty.

I replaced it for the file from the previous version (about 315 b) and it worked.

ok. it's just a bug.
if this fiile is empty, it causes issues. just remove it when it's empty.
it happends from several versions, it's not related to the 5.6

@mrogeriodf for the half screen, it's fixed for 5.9. you'll be able to choose among connected screen in options (hdmi or internal screen in my case).

nadenislamarre I've tried the 5.9 version, but I'am afraid the solution didn't work at my laptop. Even after choosing HDMI Output on menu, when the system reboot the blue batocera logo appears on TV and then TV turns black and the image keeps on laptop only. The sound has the same issue.

Hello my name is Wellington I have a notebook that is with the broken lcd, I put the recalbox in the hd and I got the hdmi cable in a 1080p tv. But when loading the batocera, it is part of the image on the broken monitor and another on the TV. Some configuration already exists for this.

wfelix75 You have to unzip and copy the three files into the disk or the USB stick that you use and replace it
