ok. it's just a bug.
if this fiile is empty, it causes issues. just remove it when it's empty.
it happends from several versions, it's not related to the 5.6

@mrogeriodf for the half screen, it's fixed for 5.9. you'll be able to choose among connected screen in options (hdmi or internal screen in my case).

nadenislamarre I've tried the 5.9 version, but I'am afraid the solution didn't work at my laptop. Even after choosing HDMI Output on menu, when the system reboot the blue batocera logo appears on TV and then TV turns black and the image keeps on laptop only. The sound has the same issue.

Hello my name is Wellington I have a notebook that is with the broken lcd, I put the recalbox in the hd and I got the hdmi cable in a 1080p tv. But when loading the batocera, it is part of the image on the broken monitor and another on the TV. Some configuration already exists for this.

wfelix75 You have to unzip and copy the three files into the disk or the USB stick that you use and replace it

coiotato Hello. I was able to replace the files. But now I can not configure to stay in hdmi, it only appears on the screen of the notebook. I tried configuring it through recalbox.conf, but when I load the system it looks like the files are read, because not even the games on the note screen run, they "enter" and exit. Also I can not login to the terminal as root / recalboxroot. What can I be doing wrong. Thanks.

wfelix75 You are not doing anything wrong, the password must have been changed i think, the final version 5.9 will come out in September and for what I know, it fix that problem, you try the options of the batocera?

UI Settings - Video Output and chage to LVDS-1?

I hope I have helped, that's all I know at the moment.

coiotato Hi. It worked fine now on the hdmi. I just can not now enable the sound, I have already chosen the HDMI, ALC269VB, AUTO and CUSTOM options. Do not have support yet?

there is an option to change the value in the es menu
you can get values by typing xrandr too
type f4 then ctrl alt f1 or f2 to get a terminal or via ssh
