Graphic card choice to run wii / gamecube at 1080p

hello,

I'm looking for a cheep graphic card (low profile) that can run any gamecube and wii (psx, ps2, psp, dreamcast...) games at 1080p 60fps on batocera out of the box.

I've got an intel 3430 at 3.30 GHz (2 CPU) and all the platform mentionned above run smoothly at native resolution.

ps2 is most demanding.
so i would suggest/recommend at least:
NVIDIA GT 1030 / AMD Radeon RX 550

but don't expect to be able to run every ps2 game at 1080p 60fps.
for ps2 it may be better to use windows, because then you can use DirectX/Vulcan, which can increase performance.
in batocera only OpenGL is possible (at the moment.... maybe sometime in the future Vulcan).

It's perfect, I can play with all the Dreamcast, Gamecube, Wii, PSP at 1080p, with anti aliasing, and anisotropic filter activated. For the PS2 games, I can play for most of them at 1080p, or at least at 720p

and of course at 60fps for every emulator

Gamecube and Wii are surprisingly not hard to emulate. I'm doing it with an i5 4570T with no graphics card.

jayjr1105 That's interesting! Which resolution can you get ? Native or 1080p ?

I am on 3200G APU and can run most of the Wii games at 1080p (3x native) at full speed, for the most demanding ones this has to be dropped to 2x native though.

flaker38 Just native. I don't even know how to run games at a higher res or do the frame skip stuff.

I also have a GT 1030 with a i3 4160 and GameCube and PS2 run well at 1080.

well im giving up on the pc side for now, pc still stuck with courier after 9 days, fuming!

Yes, But the weird thing is the only courier company to close down is the one they have used, Everyone else is still running, and they are know to be completely useless at the best of times. Nightmare.

Jay Where I live from what I see all delivery companies are running, however they run at a delay at the best of times. I am waiting for a SD card for over a week now. I am not to bothered with that ;-) Even if companies are running they are probably not at 100% effective and some if not many people choose not to work whenever they can. Patience ;-)

I dont get it… i bought the Gigabyte Gt1030 low-profile, i have an i5-4570 3.2Ghz…
Sometimes i get “Bad input” on tv screen… after a two or three resets Batocera starts.
Changing resolution on PS2 dont change anything at all.
Wii games (tried MarioKart and Sonic Colors) are just choppy as hell, video/sound is so bad.
When i exit a game, i have those random-black&white-squares/rectangles, and sometimes it just crash the entire thing.
I was about to give up on batocera, but maybe someone can help… maybe lol.
(nvidia drivers are activated (#removed))

KuSslaK Are you connected via HDMI? Did you change any Xrandr settings ? Did you change any settings in batocera.conf ?How much ram do you have ? Did you try updating bios ? What batocera are you on? 5.25? 5.25legacy? What is your system resolution?
