Wifi Connectivity issue with batocera-5.26-rpi4-20200418

Not able to have wifi connection with this version.
Able to find sone SSID in the area, but cannot have successful connection.

It works with me on this build (2.4GHz network, WPA2). Can you give us more details? What is happening, vs what you expect?

Same problem here, currently trying to get Batocera to work. It can see 9 other networks in the area, the furthest is 6 houses away. But can't see any of mine (I have 3, a 2.4GHz a 5GHz and and extender all WPA2) about 8ft away. Weirdly the other day it saw the 5GHz but it was only there for about an hour wouldn't connect to it. Nothing at all happens at all when I put it in manually.

Does your wifi-name contain spaces or special characters?
I had similar issues and after i changed my wifi-name from "name 123" to "name-123" it worked.

Wifi connectivity was working fine when I flashed with batocera-5.26-rpi4-20200417
Then in few days, it informed me there is an update, I used the update in the system menu.
After reboot, it couldn't connect to my Wifi.

Then I flashed with batocera-5.26-rpi4-20200418 and having the same problem.

no special characters in SSID name.

I had the same issue. it may be related how/if the wifi country code is set. ever since I dual installed rasbian with PINN side by side with Batocera, wifi works now. If I install only Batocera (build from 18th) on the SD, wifi will not work, presumably because there is no country code set for wifi. I can't confirm though. Just a theory.

Had same issue, I swapped my router over for another spare one I had and it sees and connects. So looks like it doesn't like certain ones. As far as I can work out it is something to do with how the router configures 2.4 and 5 GHz. The one of mine it can't see 5GHz doesn't work very well (its just a cheap router). The one it can see I know is older but I know does something different with its settings but I can't really remember what that is.

I have same issue with Wifi! It only connected once.. then when I tried the next day it does not connect no matter what I do, I tried turning it off and on and even rescan but the status and IP address is always not connected no matter what :( I am using 20200418 Pi 4 version.

EDIT: This is strange, I just left it at the NOT CONNECTED screen for sometime and it got connected after a while automatically! but WINSCP now gives me this error when I try to connect:

Still does not work! Abnormal slow behaviours... sometimes shows connected but not able to login... very slow response.. but it was working absolutely fine the last day! :( Dunno.. need to test further..

But im use last version of batocera for RPI4
The ping work but ssh fail that is strange...
Only solution when ssh fail is reboot wait 1-2min and reconnect

just tried update from within batocera from build from 18th to 23rd and again after reboot the screen stays black. I am leaving it for now but it has been black for the past 10 minutes, I don't think it's doing anything. Seems something is broken with update process, it seems to break the boot partition.

edit: still black after 1 hr. time to install again from scratch.

With batocera-5.26-rpi4-20200423 it also does not connect to wifi as I put in the setting.
However, it seems to be connecting after a while (around 5 mins). Having to say that, the wifi connectivity stability is still not consistent.

Any news on this issue? I'm having the same problem. I can see my wifi network from the network settings, but only get the "not conntected" status and a a pipa IP of 169...

How would I go about changing the region setting on the Wifi, without access via SSH?

2.4GHZ seems more stable? have you tried using the 2.4ghz instead of the 5ghz wifi?

Same version of Batocera on PI4 the problem that IP takes but indicates that it is not connected does so at times also on LAN and WiFi on 2,4GHz. A bug ??

I switched to 2.4ghz, that works for me. 5GHz does not. However each update the boot partition gets busted and I have to reapply the partition.sh script in order for batocera to boot up again.

boot partition error after upgrade: fatCP437: Invalid argument
The Share partition is fine.

Hello, for me it only work with 2.4ghz network, and pretty instable for the moment (cannot transfert data with network share). have a nice day
