Hi,
First off, thanks to the Batocera team for creating a great product!
I am new to Batocera, and am still working my way around the system. As such I have a few configuration problems that I hope the community can help with
System Information:
Batocera 5.25, NO missing/Incorrect BIOSes
In the BIOS folder, there seems to be cheat files (.dat/.zip) for both MAME2003 and MAME2010
AMD A6-3500 CPU/APU (within integrated graphics) - Speed is 2.1ghz, listed (within Batocera) as supporting Open GL 3.3, 8gb RAM
Can anyone help with the following? (Apologies in advance for the length of this post
- Controller Key Mapping Guide?
I notice that different emulators map their keys/buttons differently i.e. Select + Start brings up a Virtual KB in Amstrad, whereas in PSP it allows exit from the emulator
Is there a handy info graphic that depicts which controller keys are mapped per emulator? ( I note the simple generic one in the Batocera wiki)
- scummVM configuration?
Currently, when I launch a game, I am taken briefly to a Orange ScummVM screen (sometimes an error message about game data not being loaded). I've read, that this might be caused by the layout of the scummvm folder, but I have tried the three examples (below), all to know avail.
Can someone advise what I am doing wrong? (all the games work, when loaded into the dedicated ScummVM program running on my Windows 10 box)
ex.1
scummvm
|- Beneath a Steel Sky
| |- Files (i.e. MT32_CONTROL.ROM)
| |- sky.scummvm (blank file, although I have also read that it should contain the game ID, i.e. sky)
ex.2
scummvm
|- sky
| |- Files (i.e. MT32_CONTROL.ROM)
| |- sky.scummvm
ex.3
scummvm
|- sky.scummvm
| |- Files (i.e. MT32_CONTROL.ROM)
| |- sky.scummvm
- MAME Cheats
In MAME64 (in Windows 10), within a game, I can press the Tab key, and from the menus, select a specific cheat for the given game rom. Within MAME (2010/0.139 in Batocera), I cannot seem to do this - I note pressing F5 displays a 'Cheats Enabled / Disabled' message, but there is no cheats options in the MAME menus.
According to this website - https://github.com/libretro/mame2010-libretro, there is this reference: 'libretro system folder/mame2010/ - cheat.zip cheats file - not currently working'
So is the cheats feature permanently completely broken in MAME? Is there an alternative way of enabling MAME cheats?
3.Cheats Folder – Presumably for other emulators (besides MAME)
Does anyone know how this folder is used? I've stumbled across some documentation for Recallbox/RetroArch systems, but nothing for Batocera
- Naomi / Atomiswave do not seem to work
As mentioned at the beginning, no missing bios, and APU supports OpenGL 3.3.
When I try to launch the roms on these systems, the screen goes black, and then the rom list is re-displayed
Both Naomi/Atomiswave roms are zipped, and typically contain a mixture of .bin, .lst and .eeprom/nvmem files
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get these systems working?
Thanks in advance for any help/advice given!
