mrdarkvator Hello and thanks for the hard work. I'm trying to upgrade my install to the newest version released and followed the manual upgrade instructions, but am still unable to do this. Is there any other way to do this?
mrdarkvator I unzip boot.tar.xz on to a drive and then reboot into it, it still says 0% downloaded for update and doesn't update. Thank you for your quick reply.
nadenislamarre which version are you starting from ? can you give me the link to the boot.tar.xz file ? you must unzip this file over the existing files on the existing version. i don't understand where you get 0% downloaded message. the update is done by the unzipping. batocera is mainly only 1 file which is in this directory.
mrdarkvator I'm getting boot.tar.xz from http://batocera-linux.xorhub.com/upgrades/x86_64/stable/last/ And I'm running version 5.1.0 2017/01/04 11:08. That might be my problem. I was unzipping it onto a usb thumbdrive. Is there a way to download this onto the Batocera PC like through git clone maybe?
nadenislamarre I'm getting boot.tar.xz from http://batocera-linux.xorhub.com/upgrades/x86_64/stable/last/ and I'm running version 5.1.0 2017/01/04 11:08. this is ok. so, if you unzip boot.tar.xz, you must found some files, including EFI and boot directory. Erase the existing files, and that's all. starting 5.2, upgrade are finnished, you will be able to upgrade automatically from the interface.
mrdarkvator I'm still not able to update. I am unzipping onto a thumbdrive and booting the PC into the thumbdrive and nothing happens. It goes to the normal 5.1.0 install on the pc. What am I doing wrong?
nadenislamarre mrdarkvator ah ok. I understand. you plug both, hdd and usb key. batocera doesn't support this for the moment. you've to unzip directly on the hdd the 5.2.
Gnomx nadenislamarre Hi guys long time. So , I noticed that you have achieved your goals , congratulations!! 😎😎 Just a question , what graphing card are you using? 🤔
