So i’ve been trying to re-tool my old Samsung ATIV8 Laptop to run batocera, I’ve had experience running retropie and setting up linux boots on computers before so i didn’t think it would be hard.
Long story short, whenever i install batocera to the HDD, my computer cant seem to boot. I’ve disabled secure boot and changed some of the boot menu settings but still nothing.
i get the error: ‘all boot options are tried’
The computer CAN boot batocera from a USB stick, but when i go into the menu and install directly to the HDD it does not boot. Have not noticed any sound/graphic issues when running from the USB.
I’ve tried removing the HDD and installing batocera directly onto it, That did not work either.
ive tried Running ubuntu from a stick, going into disks and deleteing partition, then using ubuntu to flash batocera onto the HDD, still no dice. i get the same error ‘all boot options are tired’
some system info:
memory: 8 gb memory
processor: intel i73635qm cpu @2.4GHz x8
graphics: AMD Oland /intel HD graphics 4000
Disk Capacity (the disk i am trying to install/boot from): 1 TB - model ST1000LM024 HN-M101MBB
I’m currently running ubuntu from the disk, and i ran kubuntu too. (both 64 bit versions)
I can run retropie from within ubuntu, but had some issues setting up PS2 with it and my understanding is that the batocera for this image has PS2 natively, which would be great.
My guess is its something with the boot file once it installs to the HDD that my system has a hard time with, I’m just not sure what it is, or how to fix it. Any help is greatly appreciated!
