WWW Manager broken

After upgrading to current beta (5.7 2017/05/20 10:29) via system upgrade and tinkering the switch via ssh to enable beta updates, noticed that www manager has gone all haywire, no more game/bios management there, but instead it loads virtual controls in full page and nothing more.

Reverted back to stable and WWW manager works again as intented.

see the changelog in the news section. the web manager was removed.
missing bios can be found in the games menu.

I would like to know why recalbox-api was removed and the recalbox-manager was such a useful tool what was the reason?
Do you think Returns in another version?

first, i removed them because they used an old framework, and thus upgrading technically batocera made these tools no more work.
on batocera, there is nobody to maintain these tools. the developper remained on the recalbox project.
i found them no usefull and found nobody using them
it's a big security hole on the system while it's not protected.

on recalbox, they made a version 2, but it's a not a tool made to work everywhere, just for recalbox. i won't take time to adapt it on batocera.

I have set up several RPI3's up with Retropie for friends and family that are not very technology inclined but they all can use a browser. I have shown them the USB method of adding roms to their systems and everyone of them has pulled out the flash drive before it has finished. Most of the time it just corrupts one or two of the rom files but i have had it corrupt the whole rom directory making the system not show in emulationstation or a few times it locked up the system then wouldn't boot. Forget explaining how to do a network transfer. It is very easy to bookmark a webpage tell them to go to roms and select the system they want to add roms to then just drag and drop, since that's how most of the web transfers files for example YouTube, Googledrive, dropbox, and so on. Not really useful for myself but it does have a use. I personally like Retropie but I use recalbox for others because its easier to use with menus using only a controller.

i understand.
however, i've no standard software which does this without having to develop something.

I understand as well and I'm one person with one use case scenario. The development would take too much time for one user. I was just thinking if switching to XU4's for the N64 performance instead of the RPI3

xu4 performance are really better than the rpi3 one for n64 or dreamcast.
