batocera linux x64 enable 3d aceleration VirtualBox

Hi guys, I have installed Batocera linux x64 in VirtualBox, in 2d roms everything is fine but emulators that use 3D acceleration like Nitendo 64, 3DO, DreamCast, etc. it is slow. To activate 3d acceleration I need to install the Virtualbox Extension Pack. I have copied the Virtualbox Extension Pack folder to the Share folder and after opening xterm terminal to install there is no “sudo” command, nor “apt-get”, I am new to linux. How can I enable 3D acceleration in Batocera Linux 64 in VirtualBox

Hello, I have this same problem. You have already solved it?
Just to exemplify I did the following procedure:
-> At the terminal

wget http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/6.1.14/VBoxGuestAdditions_6.1.14.iso -P / tmp
mount -o loop /tmp/VBoxGuestAdditions_6.1.14.iso / mnt
sh /mnt/VBoxLinuxAdditions.run

After running this command gave the error that bzip2 was not found

wget https://www.sourceware.org/pub/bzip2/bzip2-latest.tar.gz

However when it was unzipping it gave error

tar xvfz bzip2-latest.tar.gz

Batocera is a firmware and as such not really a true operating system out of box. In order to install any drivers, etc, you would have to recompile the OS. It isn’t designed to be run in a virtual machine.
