installing batocera not allocate hole 300gb hdd

I have 2 laptop first toshiba 60gb hdd Installed from USB via batocera-5.25-x86-20200310.img.gz works ok.
Second VAIO VPC-W22Z1R 320GB HDD using same USB when installing take only 3gb fat32 partition.

merdzd Put simply: Batocera will take about 3GB for ‘itself’. It will create another space for your ROM-s. Also once installed actually start it ;-)

When i try to save 1gb file in SHARE folder on SONY it says “not enough space”
Tried to clone 60gb Disk to 300gb HDD with Clonezilla its occur with error I’m not realy Linux User to sorting errors.
How to Install batocera on 300Gb HDD and seize all Space on HDD?
Like it’s happened on first laptop whit 60Gb HDD.

Correct me: so i can make 3gb partition Rufus batocera-5.25-x86-20200310.img.gz on that partition - other space on HDD format 2 NTFS and label partition as SHARE. Batocera will see it as storage and share folder with bios files and roms?
don’t have my sony laptop on me today.

merdzd You might have to copy paste folders from your other installation ;-) Have you tried simply reinstalling ?

I did try reinstall a few times, even clean wipe the disk in windows or create different size raw partitions, all reinstall came with this result

Will batocera see ROMS and bios files after that without settings change?

merdzd My cyrillic is not the strongest but I’m pretty sure thats not correct. The batocera is 3GB as you would expect, but the SHARE is not labelled anything and is only 256 MB big? The user data requires more space than that to work. I would delete the 256 MB partition, make a new partition using the whole 300 GB that is left and make it EXT4 if possible. NTFS works for external drives so if you are editing partitions in windows use that.

To format it EXT4 I would use a live usb linux and do it with the GParted program. It also allows you to resize and clone partitions between harddrives.

MurMur If share is indeed on 256mb its easier to resize it. I am not sure that is the case though.

The partition does not say if it is FAT32 or NTFS like the BATOCERA one does. Not sure if it actually is a usable partition, so I would recommend to delete it and make a new from all the unused space.

MurMur 256mb to me would look like swap or system reserved partition.

I reinstall batocera 6th time maybe, and its created two partitions 3gb, 256gb - i can copy big size roms to \batocera\share now.

MurMur Not really i can’t start single game. expt those came with batocera by default.

merdzd So i did like advised above renamed to “SHARE” copy all files via F1 file manager in batocera bot no games in \batocera\SHARE folder. So I will try install again.

merdzd Did you select correctly the disk in settings? Do you actually have games that you added? Do you have all bios files ?
