Batocera & Amiga question

Hello to everybody…i have a rather trivial question but i cannot find the answer
I am building a retro gaming machine for a friend of mine and stumbled on a strange issue
At first i tried Batocera but since my friend also wants the full Desktop experience i loaded Ubuntu Desktop and used Retropie ….also i had major issues with PSP emulation on Batocera…with the same hardware the PSP lags amazingly when on both Retropie and PPSSPP standalone i get full speed.
So how Batocera handles multi disk games on Amiga…on another build i had with Batocera on a very old machine Amiga worked right away and even allowed me with the combination of gamepad buttons to load the next disk but on RP no way…i tweaked the Default.fs-uae to allow many floppies …but nada..it doesn’t detects the next disk
Any info on this…or i would have to load Batocera to find out how is done … (!)
Note : everything on standard old PCs

Regarding PSP performance issues: in Batocera the internal emulator resolution of PPSSPP is set to 4x native at default.
You can change the resolution to 1x or 2x (if your hardware is powerful enough) by pressing Hotkey + B while in a game, then go to Graphics Settings.

Or you can try to change the TV Mode in ES Game Settings, Per System Advanced Configuration, PSP.
But this will also change the displayed resolution of your TV/Monitor (at default it is 1080p for a 1080p TV/Monitor and if you set TV Mode to 640×480 for example, then your TV/Monitor will also switch to this resolution, when you start a game).

Well i gave it a try but
1 st a PSP game i tried loaded 1st time but only 1st…after that is dead
2 ESC and hotkey+B for PPSSPP does not work…i pressed just about everything
3 It seems that some scripts gets executed on the Amiga side that scans the game selected and accordingly creates a matching configuration named debug.fs-uae (i think the creator of fs-uae should take a look at it)

Something else…i am not sure which version was but some months i tried batocera there was an option to install on HDD…now is gone [EDIT] … my memory still serves me right…version 5.25 had the option to install on HDD

What kind of controller do you use?
Usually Hotkey + B should work. You could try to remap your buttons in Controller Settings and test again.

Mystery resolved on the clever Amiga handling…i guess it’s author work…great job
The fsuaeGenerator.py (compiled to .pyc) scans the folder when a game is selected to see if the last character before the extension is a digit and if is numeric scans for the rest and builds a fs-uae configuration for fs-uae….

I think i have tried just about everything…keyboard/gamepad/remapped keyboard…nothing opens the menu
the button “~” changes the speed and some other takes screenshots but that is all.
PPSSPP is dead on the water on 5.25
on 5.26 it run just ONCE and then is dead again
Alternate speed seems to be ok although i would like some more control.
Any idea where the call is made from EmulationStation when you click on a game… i want to track down/debug especially the clever floppy handling on Amiga.

Could you list your PC hardware (CPU/GPU) and which gamepads exactly you are using?
And because you mentioned you are using an old pc… i assume that you are using the 32bit (x86) version of batocera, right?

Some Lenovo SFF with i915 chipset/E5500 & 4GB ram
The funny thing is that PPSSPP works the very 1st time i pick a rom….then is dead.
Ubuntu with PPSSPP either standalone or with RP works everytime full speed.

You can control the ppsspp internalresolution if you edit the ppsspp.ini
is located at userdata/system/configs/ppsspp/PSP/SYSTEM/ppsspp.ini
Changing to 1 (x1) allowed me to run PSP
Now searching the available options…. :)
