It looks that it was the rom compatibility level problem, I downloaded complete 0.220 set from archive.org and almost everything works, but with some roms Batocera still can hang as described. The logs are empty when such error occurs. Anyway MAME 0.220 in Batocera works a lot slower than libretro 0.139 core for me. Additionally it does not see mouse, so my rotary controller and trackball won’t work. Also tested new 5.27-beta1 with the same results.
