try with another USB flash drive and/or try this USB flash drive on another PC.
what are the hardware specs of your laptop?

btw im using samsung evo 250g ssd
do i have to connect it to the internet?

i already tried different usb drive, i also used a usb drive that i used to install ubuntu on one of my hhd.
here’s the specs
hp pavilion m4 notebook pc
intel core i5 2.60ghz
8gb ram
bios version F.04

now i am trying to boot it without the hhd on my laptop and after it promt me to boot batocera normal or batocera verbose(i think that’s the 2nd one)

hp notebook
processor intel celeron cpu n3060 1.60ghz
8gb ram
do you think i should try to boot it on my other laptop? if so, after the configuration, can i use that usb with batocera installed on the laptop im having trouble booting it with? do you think it would work?
should i put the usb in usb 3.0 or 2.0?

hey man. it work. but after the installation, i tried to plug it in at the laptop im havong problem with but it doesnt work there :(

does your hp pavilion m4 notebook have a dedicated gpu? or integrated intel gpu?

because when i google hp pavilion m4 i find some models with GeFroce 730M.
you could try to activate nvidia drivers and see, if it then works or try the nvidia legacy build.

how am i able to do this without an os running on this pc?

you simply need another pc.
plug your usb drive, where you installed batocera on, into another pc and then edit the batocera-boot.conf file

by the way, i just wanna let you know what is happening when i tried to boot it on m4 laptop. after the words batocera linux, i can see the 1st logo oh batocera, after that it turns into black, then the 2nd time the batocera logo comes up( in just a blink of an eye) it turns black again and stayed. so it should be loading the batocera right but it hangs in there. thats what im dealing for now. wew, i really hope i could finish this problem. anyway, i really appreciate your time and effort that youve been given. thanks

i already enable nvidia but still doesnt work.
about the legacy build your talking about, i dont have any idea of what it is until now, ive search on the internet but i dont see much and i still cant understand it. is there anything else that i could do to make this work?
