CHD’s don’t launch using Flycast core, but do work in Reicast.
Tested on 5.25 and 5.26 on both OGA 1.0 and 1.1
Is this intentional?
Currently I could start Dreamcast CHD ROMS but (with plain Batocera 5.26 install) the game are unplayable.
Is there a different emulator that might be installed?
I manually installed Redream. CHD support is spotty, but a bit better. I think I 7z or zipped GDI folders work, but I’ve been putting individual GDI folders just to avoid the lossiness of CDI and the obvious issues with CHD.
sleeperninja How did you install it??
Yeah, CHD roms works Fine on Redream
DryKillLogic I tried on x86 its a no go
You need to be using the correct chdman.exe version. Flycast chd support for some reason isn’t up to date with current mame build of chdman. If I remember correctly chd v4 is supported but v5 is current build.
@esmith13 Flycast does support v5, but the roms need be converted from gdi to chd, if you go with bin/cue images, it won’t work since some metadata gets missing in the process. It’s not the same case for redream though.
@MrCoffee did you test it on 5.26 or 5.27?
DryKillLogic arm versions of flycast are behind the x86_64 builds. The v5 chds i made from redump gdi’s work on windows flycast for example but not arm versions. V4 chds i make from the same gdi’s work on both.
esmith13 keep in mind CHD games in 5.27 for dreamcast/naomi are currently broken, so the issue might not be related to the images. I have tested a couple of v5 CHD images in 5.26, and they work fine.
