Issues with SMB access to and External USB Device

I connected an external USB Hard Drive to my system, formatted it to EXT4, backed up my data from the internal eMMC, and set the storage drive to my external share.

I attempted to backup and edit the /ect/samba/smb.conf so that I can access it from my network, but every time I change the config it resets on reboot.

How do I share the external drive through SMB?

Also, when I add a rom to the internal memory that I can access through the network, it still shows up on the system. I thought I could only access roms via internal storage or external storage, and not both at the same time. Does this mean it isn’t using the external storage at all?

Well, I see where I went wrong for part of the issue. After researching the Wiki, I realized I needed to use batocera-save-overlay command to actually save the edits to the config file. Having done that, I now have access to the second drive at SHARE-1.

The only oddity is that despite being a 10TB external, it only shows that it has 1.94gb free, though that doesn’t seem to change when I add roms to it, so it’s likely not a problem.

Once I add some roms to the external, I’ll reboot and test if the other issue persists. If it does, I’ll likely start a new thread more directly related to that issue.
