[SOLVED] CPS1 / CPS2... folders ?

Hi,

I use this theme: https://github.com/ordovice/es-theme-next-level-remix/

I created cps1 and cps2 folders in roms folder and i put some roms. But I can’t see them in ES menu.

Any idea? I don’t find any info (excepted outdated info on recalbox forum).

Folders and roms are not enough. Google for “es_systems.cfg”. On batocera copy /usr/share/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg to /userdata/system/configs/emulationstation/es_systems.cfg and customize it from there.

I tried collections, it works well but it seems i can’t create new “root entries” like snes/nes… And i can’t explore folders not declared on es_systems.cfg

Hi, what about custom collection like cps1 and cp2 and bezelproject?
for me it doesn’t work.

So I have to solve this myself. I want use the fbneo core. I have a fbneo 1.0.0 set that works fine when placed in the fbneo folder. I have ROMs in the cps 1, 2, and 3 folders. I use the alecful Solo theme which recognizes them. The games do not launch. There has to be something missing to this as there should run. I did set fbneo as default core in the config. It is like it is not recognizing the bios. I checked for missing bios. Batocera says no bios missing. Bios for fba are also in rom folders for cps 1, 2, and 3. Any advice?

This is what I have. This CPS1-CPS3 romset works in FBNeo. It does accurately display the 3 systems, but it is not successful in launching the games. It simply comes back to the main menu. Could someone kindly tell me where I’m going wrong or how to fix it? Thanks! Here is a modification from the code above:

I was not able to get things to work properly. I was trying to separate out Konami as well. I used automatic collections which worked for cps 1, 2, and 3. It seperated Konami out but they still wouldn’t play from collections. They play fine with the fbneo system however. So I basically have up. With the collections I don’t want the games to still show under the fbneo system. If you hide a game in fbneo system it hides it in collections as well. I wanted to separate some other systems as well like nes and fc, snes and sfc, pc engine and tg16 but have not tried as I felt I would likely encounter the same issue. I would mention I have emulationstation installed on my linux desktop pc. I managed to completely configure it from the ground up. Not sure why this is so difficult. I really wish we had preconfigured folders for things like this.

One thing I noticed after setting up the folders:

While navigating in the CPS3 folder, I brought up Game Options for one of the games (SFIII 2nd Impact to be precise as a test) and selected Advanced Game Options. There, under Emulator, I chose my default emulator as FBNeo. To make sure the setting was saved, after backing out, I brought up the main menu, went to Game Settings and selected Update Game Lists. Then, I went back to the CPS3 folder, selected SFIII 2nd Impact… AND IT RAN!

Because of this, I wanted to check something. I accessed batocera.conf and went to the very end of the file to see this:

cps3[“sfiii2.zip”].core=fbneo
cps3[“sfiii2.zip”].emulator=libretro

Now, if there was a way to change this option to reflect ALL the files in the folder, then we are set in stone for the other two cps folders!

Also, I went about to create a separate Neo-Geo folder called mvs (the arcade games will be housed here); the home console games will be stored in the neogeo folder. Because the mvs folder does not have the option to set the bios, in the neogeo folder, I set the bios to Console AES World for 3 Count Bout (as an example) under Advanced Game Options. When I opened batocera.conf, I found this:

Once again, if this was reflected for ALL the files in the folder, then I’m set for the neogeo folder.

A kind user on the batocera subreddit helped solve this problem for me. With batocera.conf open, they suggested removing [ ] for each option. In the end, for me personally, this is what I ended up going with:
