Problems running GC and PS2

So I’ve loaded batocera onto a lenovo thinkcenter M92P Sff. It has a intel i5-3550 processor and i put in a geforce gt 710 gpu. It runs most of the preloaded games fine. and psp and ps1 runs well. When i try to play gamecube the games studer to the point of being unplayable. when I try to load a ps2 rom the screen goes black and then just goes back to the game select menu. Does anyone have any idea whats wrong like if its just the hardware?

That processor should run GC and PS2 ok. I think the current version of batocera/dolphin defaults to a pretty high internal resolution so that might be causing the lag. In main ES menu press F1, in the left side choose Applications and choose dolphin. Try a lower resolution to see if it works better. With PS2 it sounds like you don’t have BIOS files/wrong BIOS files and it won’t start at all. Check in the main menu -> Games -> Missing BIOS and see if it complains about PS2. If you have the BIOS but it is still not starting try going in the F1 menu to pcsx2 and change settings there.

MurMur Thank you! I droped the resolution and got smash brothers running at a decently consistant 58-60 fps. still need to sort out the ps2.

Also, have you enabled nVidia graphics drivers, and are you sure you are using the Batocera build that includes the right drivers for the GT 710? I’m unsure if you need the one with legacy nVidia drivers.

I went to the F1 menu and installed the ps2 bios but it still wont run

check in game settings, missing bios, if you have all ps2 bios files.
also check if the md5 of the files are correct

So i got all the correct bios loaded. its not missing anything. but when i load a ps2 game now the screen just goes black and theres nothing

Tbh i don’t know how to do that with this system

ok i got the nvidia drivers enabled and the ps2 emulator will load. but it is slow and stuttering.

What did you do to enable the nvidia drivers and are you getting sound over the hdmi? (if you’re using HDMI)

ok i got it working, adjusted the resolution like i did with the gamecube

I had to go into ssh to enable it. also i am getting sound through hdmi. i wasnt at first but i went into the kodi settings to change it to hdmi, then changed the audio settings in the start menu.
In the ssh i put this in to enable the drivers
mount -o remount,rw /boot
batocera-settings /boot/batocera-boot.conf –command uncomment –key nvidia-driver
mount -o remount,ro /boot
reboot
