PCSX2 not launching on Batocera

I’ve recently installed Batocera on a USB to emulate PS2 games, and all the other emulators seem to work, except for PCSX2. Whenever I launch a game, it simply blackscreens for a few seconds and brings me back to the screen where PS2 games are shown. I don’t have any idea what to do. What step am I missing?

do you have the ps2 bios files? and which file extension do your ps2 games have?

I do have the bios running, and all of them are iso files

Try changing the settings for pcsx2 from Main Menu -> F1 -> left hand side Applications -> pcsx2. Might be something there that causes the issue. Also check that batocera is finding the bios files by checking Start Menu -> Games Settings -> Missing bios.

How do I access these settings? I’m a bit new to Batocera, help would be appreciated

for pcsx2 config you need to have keyboard+mouse connected. In the menu you choose the emulator press F1 on the keyboard to access more options. From there click Applications in the left hand side and then pcsx2-config that appears on the screen. Try starting games from the config and press esc to edit settings and see if you get it working. The missing bios menu is accessed via the controller by Start -> Games Settings -> down the list and Missing Bios. If it says ps2 is missing there is something wrong with your bios file.

I tried launching with PCSX2 config it says plugins missing. What should I do now? I still have to try the BIOS thing though

Well I’ve finally fixed it! Apparently, the ROM2.bin, EROM.bin and a couple of other BIOS files were missing. Now the emulator works! Thanks for taking the time to help and read!
