Help in laptop without display

hello I have a sony vaio laptop with a core i5,
because the main screen is completely damaged, I have removed it …
I have managed to install ubuntu 20.04 LTS and with the function key + f7 I have managed to see the main screen of Ubuntu to make the necessary configurations and set the secondary monitor as the main one.

already verified that the equipment works correctly I have installed in a USB Batocera, so that the children can use this equipment for game by emulator; the first boot was fine, I could see the autoconfiguration of the operating system on the secondary monitor; but after a few minutes the screen went black and lost the signal from the laptop; I know that it turns on correctly because it has sound and it is heard in the background but not more than that … is there any way to make this thing work without having to buy a new screen for the laptop ???

i had same issue, this worked for me.

Connect your usb where you have installed batocera into another pc having any linux OS, then go to share folder it is a partition extf4 in the usb, go to system folder, open batocera.config in text editor and search global.videooutput
remove the “#” to enable the change, then in my case i changed it to this: global.videooutput=HDMI-1
save changes, and when you boot batocera on your damage screen laptop it should take the monitor/tv as the output for the video.
