How to change HDMI Hz rate to 62 for a 4" LCD screen

Hi there I had a search to try and find some info about on how to change the Resolution and Hz rate while it boots and for the OS so I can see the main menu.

I also have a basic USB sound card that I want to use as well since the HDMI panel doesn't support sound that I wanted to get working if anyone has some info on how to get that to be the default device.

PS: here's the HDMI panel.

and the specs:
Resolution: 800x480@62Hz
Interface: HDMI

It also supports GPIO touch screen but I don't really mind if that works or not.

it's 60hz. even the configuration blobs indicate 60hz
look at the wiki Method 1 config.txt line 3: hdmi_cvt 480 800 60 6 0 0
reference how to read the line

hdmi_cvt=<width> <height> <framerate> <aspect> <margins> <interlace> <rb>
width        width in pixels
height       height in pixels
framerate    framerate in Hz
aspect       aspect ratio 1=4:3, 2=14:9, 3=16:9, 4=5:4, 5=16:10, 6=15:9
margins      0=margins disabled, 1=margins enabled
interlace    0=progressive, 1=interlaced
rb           0=normal, 1=reduced blanking

the problem seems to be you need to figure out the bootcodes to default to the hdmi mode needed to display. And the touchscreen issue sounds like needed to patch the kernel with those drivers linked to from the wiki for support. i don't know how to do that.

Thank you for the info, I noticed that too but when I plug the screen into a PC running windows and check the Hz rate it reports back 62; sorry about that.

edit: I have looked up the config.txt location but found out that is for raspberry Pi, Odroid uses boot.ini in the root directory of the SD card.

i've udpated boot.ini in the last versions :

you should be able to find your mod and choose it.

Hi there I have tried updating Batocera and then commented setenv video_output "1080p60hz" and then uncommented the setenv video_output "800x480p60hz" which what I believe you meant by using my mod.

Still doesn't work but at least I get a black screen now instead of spastic static and colours, I know the screen works well since I have used it with my PC but it reports 62hz if I check the device in windows.

Sorry for the hassle, I am new to the C2 and modding the settings files or bootcode; have been trying for months and this is the second screen I got for it trying to get this to work :/

Doesn't even work with Lakka or Kodi using the same methods.

edit: oh there is still a heartbeat light indicating it's booted regardless of the screen working with it or not, hope that helps.

Gameshark428 I had the same issue with the screen with Raspberry Pi and had to do a HDMI boost to 11 for it to work. I dont know which variable changes that in odroid! 🙁

There seems to be no config.txt or boot.ini in batocera 5.8 for 64 bit PC how can I set the booting resolution then

I think config.txt is a raspberry pi system file, I have boot.ini in the OS's root for my C2 and can change it but nothing happens when I do, I have even tried to change the variables being called at the end of the boot.ini regarding the resolution and manually put it in there as a test to try and force it incase the system was having trouble with calling the variable but that didn't work also.

Okay I found out something annoying, the resolution is actually 480x800 (had to use ubuntu mate and update the kernel); http://i.imgur.com/IwpfgSf.jpg

Is there a way to rotate the display and force that resolution on Batocera? It was recommended that I buy ANOTHER screen (this would be the third one now lol).

Just wondering how a company can get the printout on the board and one the website wrong xD
