Noob question about Mame emulator in Batocera

Hello everyone
As far as now, i was playing my Mame games on a PC using the latest Mame emulator from Mamedev, along with the latest romset published. On Pc everything is updated easily.
Now, i want to make myself a bartop, with a Raspberry Pi 4, and Batocera seemed to me a good option.
But everywhere i read that it’s provided with a very old version of Mame and that i have to use a 0.139 (or something like that) mame romset.

My question is : is it possible to use the latest Mame version in Batocera along with the latest romset (0.224), and if yes, how can i update the mame emulator ?

Current Batocera 5.26 release supports the MAME 0.220 core/romset. Perhaps Batocera 5.27 will support a higher MAME core version.

You can copy your MAME 0.224 romset on your Raspberry Pi disk drive and use ClrMamePro to downgrade the 0.224 romset into a 0.220 romset. I recommend to keep only games having the “working” status in your MAME 0.220 .dat file. You’ll probably need to download few old roms versions to get a clean MAME 0.220 working fullset.

In your Batocera’s settings, in the “games advanced setting per systems”, set MAME to the “Libretro/Mame” emulator option. Then MAME will run as 0.220 core.

This is what I don’t understand. I don’t have this option. I only have auto, fbneo, mame139, mame079 and imame4all. I don’t have just mame. And when I use my 0.220 romset with mame on pc they all work, but when I copy them in batocera 5.26, so mame 0.220, many of them don’t work

I downloaded version for intel nuc, but also cant see Mame
