PPSSPP Crash on start

First of all I thank the developers for a new version of Batocera. I encountered a problem playing some PSP games. Some start correctly but others crash on startup. I tested them in ISO and CSO format and got the same result. I opted for a clean install and nothing changed. bug maybe? in previous versions of Batocera tested games these work correctly.

joinski maybe I did not understand, the games start correctly, but when they have to draw 3D figures (I think), it crash and ppsspp closes. Checking the logs, I see there are several errors about texures. I clarify that not all games have this problem, some of the games that present this problem are: Pes 2013 and Soul Calibur: Bloken Destiny (europe m6)

For me at Ppsspp I have the random Problem that I have to start many Games 2 or 3 times to get them to run. This behavior for me is since 5.26.

I’m currently using that version of Batocera, and the games play without any problem.

First… AWESOME JOB WITH BATOCERA!, I still have some ISOs that i dumped from the original UMDs back in the day… the list i have is burnout legends, sega rally, untold legends and my favorite castlevania the dracula x chronicles, the issue i have is with castlevania, on my ubuntu 20.04 partion i have ppsspp for linux and ALL my games run correctly, however, castlevania on batocera loads and after the konamy logo the video intro gets stuck and the game crashes, i try a work arround, when i do a save state during the intro video i press F2 to save that sate then i copy the folders from the ppsspp in ubunto to the shared partition on batocera, the folders are the same (ppsspp, gamedata, savedata etc) and when i press F4 to load the save state from ubuntu the intro plays for a second then it crashes, i don’t know what other games this happens, but for the ones that i have castelvania x chronicles crashes on the video intro, if it helps here are my specs (old pc) intel core2 quad q6600, 8Gb ddr3 ram, built in intel graphics Q45

using the same workaround, with ubuntu i started a new game, and did a save state on the actual game play (no videos playing), copy the folders from ubuntu to batocera shared, booted to batocera, loaded PSP Castlevania x chronicles and when i press F4 , the game actually loaded and the game WORKS!!… I can play and do save and load states, but the issue remains, it wont play the intro video, it crashes…

I’m having the same issue Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles on the latest stable build of Batocera. The Konami video plays, but as soon as that ends, the screen turns black and just sits there. I tried tavoloco2903’s save state trick and it worked, but it would be nice not to have to keep a save state just to load the game.

mayonaka7 This seems like an issue with PPSSPP in general, not Batocera. It would be better to bring up the issue with PPSSPP’s team instead.

mayonaka7 i’m also trying to copy-paste the core files from ppsspp in ubunto to batocera, because it works there, so probably the ppsspp core files are not the same but the emulator is the same, so i will let you know if it worked and where to copy the core files from ubuntu to batocera, wish me luck!

whiteweeding Oh, so you mean that there was a brief period between 5.25 and v31 where these games were working correctly? I thought it was just not working period. Maybe we could find the PR that “fixed” it and see why that’s been undone.
