PS4 Controller (DS4 v2) Bluetooth Pairing Issues

Hi Everyone,

I’ve recently purchased a bluetooth dongle from eBay for my x64 PC so I can use my DualShock 4 V2 (PS4) controller wirelessly. Batocera recognises the controller however the pairing fails every time. I’ve tested other bluetooth devices like mice and keyboards and they connect to Batocera with no issues.

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

which version of batocera?
and what kind of bluetooth dongle is it? can you provide the hardware-id?

The hardware id for a device in Windows can be found in the Windows Device Manager. To check the hardware id for a device, follow these steps:

Open the Device Manager from the Control Panel. You can also type "devmgmt.msc" at the Run option in the Start menu.
In the Device Manager, right-click the device, and select Properties in the popup menu.
Select the Details tab.
Select the Hardware Ids in the dropdown list.

the hardware id of my bluetooth dongle for example is:
USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001&REV_8891

When i google your hardware ID i found some bad reviews for this bluetooth dongle.
So i would suggest to try with another one.

Do you have any recommendations when it comes to dongles?

Ideally something that’ll let me connect more than one controller if possible.

i use several different bluetooth dongles:

the hardware-IDs of those are:
USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001&REV_8891 (for the two on the left side)
USB\VID_0A5C&PID_2148&REV_0818 (for the two on the right side)
(the last/fifth one is just a picture from the backside of the fourth one)

Hardware ID: USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001&REV_5276

i would just buy several different ones on Amazon and test them, and then just send those back, that do not work.

I ordered a TP-Link BT0015 a couple of weeks ago on amazon and it works perfect with my 11 months old PS4 controller.

I’m using it with the X86_64 version.
