First of all, I do want to thank you for this amazing OS for retro gaming. However, there one major problem that I don’t like about Batocera, which is that it requires you to do too much editing on your Game Collection. First the game folder’s name need to match what Batocera wanted. And secondly, when special configuration is needed like most of the wii games, Batocera wanted you to edited the game’s name in order to get the “auto” function to load the game correctly with the right controller settings. I found this very odd, because all this issues can be done with config file. It maybe a pretty ugly config file, but I still think it would be better than a “weird” collection structure.
The thing is, everyone got their own way to collect, manage and store their game collections, and folder and file name is a very important part of that process. And often enough, people want to play their collections, on different systems. Forcing user to modify their game collection in order to work with Batocera is a major design flaw in my option. Which again, the reason I am mentioning that is because Batocera is almost great on everything else, and is definitely one of the best retro OS out there.
