How i can config my gamepad in kodi 17?

I upgrade tô the New 5.8 version of batocera... But now, my gamepad only works on the system and games, but in kodi not works... How i can config this? (generic USB gamepad) ... Thais for help

something wrong happends. can you send me your .kodi directory ?
and a report ? (menu > system > informaiton > report)

nadenislamarre I will send this files soon. I did manage to map the controls in this version (they cleared themselves after the update) ... I was able to map the buttons again (the Up / Down buttons) that cleared in the update .... however, Inside the kodi I can only use the "page up / down" buttons and some other ... the directional ones do not work (and anallog) .... is there any specific configuration that must be done to map the controls correctly inside the Kodi 17? I have to map my gamepad to use it with Kodi (I use the keyboard to do so). It works fine, until I close Kodi. I have to map my gamepad again and again each time I start Kodi, it doesn't store my settings.

Is it possible to fix this problem ? Or maybe Recalbox could edit Kodi settings when I map the gamepad for videogames ? (and use the same button mapping for both Kodi and Recalbox)

@luizthiago when starting kodi,
the following script is run :

it creates a joystick configuration file for kodi based on the keys set for you pad in batocera.
For the moment, it's not customizable.

"button already mapped" can appear.
it means that your joystick send the same event for the hat and for the axis. this exists on some joysticks. It's technically as if you have only 1 hat, but 2 hardware ways to activate it.
you can confirm with sdl2-jstest or evtest on command line.

I think your configuration is correct. ok, i've in my todo list to make something more visual... one day.

my script for kodi is suppose to adapt all possible configuration.

After analyzing what you said, I think the problem is:

When upgrading to version 5.8, something unconfigured the control because the Up / Down directional buttons were not working ....

However: I did not realize this before ... as soon as I updated, the first thing I did was to enter the kodi ... as he was not obeying the commands correctly, I left the kodi and rebooted the system ... from there, I went to the emulation station to access my games and realized that the control was not obeying the commands up / down, then I went to the setup and set up my control .... it was OK, but only at Emulation Station.

So: I think the problem is precisely in the fact that this script that kodi created when it first came in ... because the control was misconfigured after the upgrade, it created a "wrong" control configuration file! ....

The question that remains is: There is no way to make kodi recreate this script every X boot (from kodi) or else, there is no way I can find the file created by Kodi and deletes it so that it Create a new file with the correct configuration? ...

I did not want to save my data and recreate everything from scratch, format SD etc ... this takes a lot ... I just wanted to sort out a way to recreate the controls file in kodi with the correct configuration of my control ... Is there nothing I can do without reinstalling from scratch?

this controller has work well in kodi 16 ...i never passed for problems with them .... but now, in kodi 17, the directional or analog not works in ... 🙁
