TLDR; Lan transfer of Roms and Isos is slower than AOL. Then after waiting a long time the transfer cancels. Never had this issue until using Batocera. My Wifi isn’t trash. Noob to Linux in general. Does everyone experience this? Does anyone have a remedy?
So This is a problem I can’t seem to remedy after googling, wiki-ing and searching in this forum. I see a couple other posts similar but they’re for SBCs and other hardware. The transfer rate for Roms and Isos of LAN is like waiting for Christmas when you’re 10 years old. Is this just an isolated incident or is this an issue with everyone?
I’m using an HP Omni 120-1125 with 6GB ram, a network card with a max speed of 150 mbps, and a measly AMD E-450 APU with a whopping 1.65ghz of raw processing power.
PC I’m transferring from is connected to ethernet and is definitely a fast one. Transfer speeds average at about 350kbps. Caps at about 1.7mbps I can’t transfer large games cause it takes too long. That and it will get interrupted during transfer. I have no idea what to do here to speed it up. I would just set it to transfer a bulk load and go to sleep but I’m not confident it would stay transferring. Am I doing anything wrong. If you need any scripts just give me the right google info to get them to you. If you need any more info just let me know. Hopefully This can be resolved for me and many others as well.
If there are any alternatives, say hooking up the drive it’s installed on to a windows 10 pc and adding the files that way. I’ve read that you can’t do it since it’s different formats. I would do something like run an instance of Linux in a VM but I’m just now getting into modifying tech beyond Windows and intended operating systems.
