How to Uninstall Kodi

I love Batocera - but I already have Kodi on a different device. How can I remove just Kodi from my Batocera install?

Is it as simple as deleting the files?

I flashed Batocera to a usb drive and have all my games saved to my internal drive. The setup works fine but I really don’t need Kodi. I’m considering removing the files just to see what happens but I don’t want to mess anything up…

Batocera is for end user, you cannot install or desinstall nothing.

Just leave the kodi and don’t open it

If there’s no way to uninstall Kodi, is there a way to remove it from the menu?

The end users in this case are my children. I built an arcade machine with Batocera. Generally I don’t leave a keyboard connected to it and it seems that Kodi requires a keyboard for navigation. So when my 8-year-old son accidentally selects Kodi (which happens a lot), I must plug in a keyboard to get it back to the game menu.

did you already try the kid mode or kiosk mode?

and for kodi you do not need a keyboard to navigate. you can also navigate with a controller

joinski I have not tried either of those modes. Do they hide Kodi? If so, I suppose Kiosk mode would be the ticket. How do you get the controls to work in Kodi? Mine never have. I must use a keyboard or mouse every time.

Honestly i don’t know, if Kiosk or Kid Mode will hide kodi, because i never tried it.
What kind of controller do you use? Usually controls via gamepad should work within kodi.

Usually Kodi sets up your gamepad on its own.

But you can manually configure it if it didn’t do it for you:

If all you want to do is hide kodi the setting is in start-> system settings -> KODI settings -> enable kodi. It at least removes kodi from the start menu.
