@ymx Thanks for the suggestion man, unfortunately I’ve already tried a couple of different drives, both flash and HDD and I get the same result in my case.
@Atari Thanks for the possible route forward! As I have a working install of Recalbox on one of my flash drives, I’m thinking I could use that as the test bed. So when you say ’copy Batocera’s boot files’, does this mean replace all of the files in the Recalbox boot partition with all of the files from the Batocera boot partition? Or would it just be a specific file or folder I’d need to copy over?
With regards to the userdata partition, Recalbox automatically created a ‘SHARE’ partition on first boot, similar to Batocera it seems, so would it be the same process as above for this – copy all files from the Batocera userdata partition to Recalbox’s share partition? According to this link, userdata and share can be used interchangably so I shouldn’t need to reformat this partition?
The userdata partition contains “the rest”, all the ROMs, BIOS files, saves, configuration (including batocera.conf
), etc. This is referred to as either userdata or share interchangeably (in reference to it being the default path the network share points to), they both mean one and the same thing.
Apologies if these are silly questions! I’m quite new to all this so just want to make sure I’ve understood :)
