Installing to HDD?

Has anyone been able to install this to a HDD? I've used win32diskimager to do it, but once installed in my HP mini 210 booting gets stuck. It works from the SD card though.

Running it on a 750GB HDD at the moment. Used dd in OS X to copy the contents from the .img to the HDD.

sudo dd if=/Users/myusername/Downloads/recalbox-20170104.img of=/dev/disk4

can you edit the file grub.conf
and remove console=tty3 quiet loglevel=0
so that you can see the error messages.
my main guess is that i didn't include your hdd driver into the kernel.
first, check the error message, then, i'll tell you how you can indicate me the driver that i've to add if necessary.

nadenislamarre I don't get an error message. I get through the first recalbox screen but the second flickers and goes black with "recalbox" up in the left corner of the screen. I figured out if I expand the size of the partition, it breaks the install, but that wastes the rest of the drive space. Not only that but the install resets after every shutdown so no settings are permanent.

if settings are no permanent, it's because you didn't let the first boot finish correctly, so the partition is not nicely created.
you should recreate the key, but wait the first time.
