Specific mame romset on Batocera 5.27

Hello to everyone and first of all thank you for this fantastic retro-games distro.
Until recently i used Batocera on my raspberry pi3, connected to my tv but in the last times i decided to build a bartop on x64 architecture.
On raspberry i used the 0.139 mame romset and 0.2.97.44 for fbneo.
I read that on x64 architecture, mame is upgraded to the latest version but if i have correctly understood, it’s possible to use a specific mame version editing batocera.conf files.
Is it correct and can i use mame romset 0.201 and relative mame versione that i have?
Or i’m wrong and i need to have the latest mame romset?

I Had the Same problem. You can try different Emulator Versions for every Rom you own.
In Batocera Go to Gamesettings and Change the Emulator from AUTO to a specific Version of mame.
Libretto,0139…etc.
So I can Run 95% of my Roms.
Maybe thus is not the easiest way, but i am happy with this solution.

After i upgraded to Batocera 29, I found full romset for mame 0.225.
It seems all ok in exception for the problem that i posted here https://forum.batocera.org/d/5073-controller-issue-on-driving-games.
